5 day design sprint
Museum attendance has taken a major hit since COVID — and it’s still falling fast. Without change, many institutions face defunding or even permanent closure.
GalleryPal is a startup on a mission to reimagine how we experience art in real life — making gallery visits more engaging, personal, and worth the trip.
My goal? Run a focused design sprint to quickly generate bold, human-centered solutions that help bring people back to the art.

Redefining the art museum experience with an interactive tour guide in the palm of your hand.

THE COMPETITION

SPOTIFY is a modern app that streams over 100 million songs directly to your listening device. A common idea but what separates this app from the rest is it’s encyclopedic knowledge contained within. Users can discover a new song and while listening, dive into the lyrics, articles, merch, interviews, history, etc. What if Gallery Pal could do this?

DESIGN

USABILITY TESTING
I’ve created a series of task for users to complete to test the efficiency of our designs. The tasks were specifically designed to push user navigation and reinforce exploration.

WHAT WE LEARNED
1. The app needs a “LIBRARY’ button that allows users to save artwork & make a custom catalogue.
2. The aesthetic needs to direct users & stand out.
3. The home page is confusing and doesn’t convey the apps functionality.
4. The home page is confusing and doesn’t convey the apps functionality.
5. Nav icons are unclear.
